Sale of Alpacas in Cheshire
This auction will take place on 17 May 2008 at Beeston Castle Market and at Chelford Agricultural Centre.
Akerman Alpacas and Ravenshaw Alpacas will be selling 65 animals at Beeston Castle Market (viewing 8.30 am, auction 10.30 am). 26 will be sold at Chelford Market (after 1.00 pm). 21 are from Morefield Alpacas on the Isle of Wight. Both Chelford and the Isle of Wight are within the BT Surveillance Zone.
Animals for sale at Beeston Castle come from Scotland, both within the BT free zone, and purchases from here can be moved anywhere in the UK. Catalogues from auctioneers Frank Marshall (01625 861122) or www.frmauctions.co.uk Please check before 17 May that Beeston is still in the BT free zone. If not, an alternative venue will be sought to enable sale of the Scottish animals.

Through the International School of Fibre Courses, Cameron offers a unique and unrivalled wealth of detailed experience and knowledge on assessing and evaluating alpaca fibre.
Using Measurement As An Aid To Selection - One Day Course, Sunday 5 October
This one day programme is a chance to develop a methodology for applying measurement to your alpaca aspiration.

Introduction To Alpaca Fibre - Weekend, 11th & 12th October
A two day intensive programme from Follicle to Fleece in which Cameron Holt explores the science, fact and fiction of alpaca fibre, its construction, attributes, assessment and analysis.
This is a must for every serious alpaca breeder. You will come away from this weekend exhausted but enriched, having gained a unique insight into alpaca fibre and put some real science behind your alpaca aspiration.

Alpaca Appraisal And Selection - Weekend 18th & 19th October
A detailed practical programme studying: Stud structures, genetics, breeding systems, Animal evaluation and assessment, providing a unique chance to put some real expertise behind your decision making.

Advanced Alpaca Fibre Production - Weekend 25th & 26th October
From follicle to fleece and beyond This is probably the most advanced Alpaca fibre course in the world consolidating the Introduction To Alpaca Fibre Course and progressing into a more detailed analysis and evaluation of alpaca fibre. To gain most from this programme, participants should have already attended the Introduction To Alpaca Fibre Course (see above).
We have located this course at the end of October to enable those who wish to participate in both the Introductory and Advanced weekends to do so.
