Entries this year will be in two stages. Pen bookings (including space for fleeces) must be submitted by 15 March 2008 to the Royal Bath and West Show Society at the above address, accompanied by entry fees. Nomination of animals and fleeces either online the BAS website or hard copy must be sent to the Show Society by 18 April 2008. Nomination of animals or fleeces will not be accepted unless pens or space have been booked.

Entry to the show will be limited to alpacas within the same Bluetongue Zone as the Showground (currently the BT Surveillance Zone). However, all show entry fees will be refundable if BT restrictions subsequently preclude attendance at the Show.


31 May: Drymen Show

Entries can presently only be accepted from owners that keep their alpacas in the Bluetongue Free Zone. This is currently the whole of Scotland, the North of England and part of Wales. In the event that the Drymen Show is cancelled in May due to flooding, the show will be held at Ballochruin Farm, Balfron Station G63 0LE.


1 June: Kenilworth Show

Alpacas Classes will be held on Sunday 15 June commencing at 9 am. Please could animals arrive at the showground on Saturday 14 May from 12 midday to 7 pm in order that the inspection stewards can inspect the animals prior to judging on the Sunday morning. If this is not possible please contact the show organiser so alternative arrangements can be made.
Please note that the Peterborough Showground is in the Blue Tongue Protection Zone.


25-26 June: Royal Norfolk Show
There will be no alpaca classes at this year's show because of the Bluetongue restrictions.


19 July: Cumberland Show
There will be no alpaca competitive classes at the Cumberland Show but an alpaca demonstration will be staged.


25-26 July: Border Union Show, Kelso

Scottish National Alpaca Championship
This will be a composite show - shorn alpaca plus fleece
