13 March: AGM and Talk by James Barnett

The BAS AGM on Saturday 13 March will be followed by a talk by James Barnett entitled 'The VLA, Disease Surveillance and Camelids'. This meeting is open to non-members.

 20 March: South East Alpaca Group

The South East Alpaca Group will be holding a Hands-on Meeting on Saturday 20 March at the Ashdown Forest Llama Park, Wych Cross, Forest Row, East Sussex RH18 5JN beginning at 12 noon. Liz Barlow will speak about fleece assessment and Vicki Agar will demonstrate skirting. Graham Reed will demonstrate subcutaneous injections.
Cost £12.50 (cheque payable to Jennie Webb) to cover refreshments and hire of facilities. Please book your place by 15 March. Send your name and address to Jennie Webb, Orchard House, Haymans Hill, Horsmonden, Kent TN12 8BZ. Please indicate any special dietary requirements

 20 March: Western Region Alpaca Group

The Western Region Alpaca Group will be holding its annual fun/sale day at Westons Farm Park, Much Marcle, on Saturday 27 March from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm. Entry for the public is free.
Members are invited to bring any alpacas they have for sale, stud males or just bring your alpacas for fun. Anyone bringing alpacas should bring their own hurdles for penning, water buckets, feed buckets and food. 
We realize that there are concerns regarding TB, etc, but the park has been empty of livestock during the winter months and there is plenty of room to pen alpacas well away from one another. We would ask members who bring animals to ensure that they are in good health. The organisers cannot accept any responsibility for the animals, you do bring them at your own risk.
Members are also invited to bring any alpaca products they have for sale.
We hope you will support this event. It is hoped to have a fun day after this long and horrid winter – hopefully the sun will shine!

10 April: North West Alpaca Group

The North West Alpaca Group will be holding an Alpaca Assessment Day on Saturday 10 April at Why Not Alpacas Ghyllas, Sedburgh, Cumbria LA10 5LT. BAS Judge Liz Barlow will speak about assessing alpacas for show, purchase and breeding, and assessing and preparing alpaca fleeces for show.
