BAS Fibre Roadshow 2016

Date:    Saturday 9th April 9am -5pm and Sunday 10th April 9am - 4.30pm.
Cost:    Day tickets cost £72 inc VAT or both days when purchased together £120 inc VAT. Delegates are invited for either the whole weekend or either day. 

We are pleased that Paul Vallely has agreed again to participate in the next stage of the Fibre Road Show. Attending last year’s event is not a pre-requisite to attending this years & there will be a recap from last year and exploration of some of the 2015 findings in more detail.

Invited speakers are Tom Shurlock B.Sc Ph.D Nutritional Consultant to GWF Nutrition Ltd & Karin Mueller MVSc DCHP DipECBHM MRCVS who is a senior lecturer in Reproduction & Animal Husbandry at Liverpool University.

Saturday 9th April

8.30am - Coffee & registration

9.00 -10am  - 2015 BAS Fibre Road Show revisited - Revealing critical issues with pre/post natal nutrition

10.00 -12.30pm - The role of key nutrients - protein & fibre - in neonatal fleece development with Q&A as we go with Tom Shurlock

12.30 - 1pm - Monitoring Micron Profiles to maximise fleece density and quality - Case studies of cria nutrition with Paul Vallely 

1.00 - 1.45pm - Light lunch

1.45 - 4.15pm - Karin Mueller - 'Importance of nutrition: focus on energy and what the alpaca makes of the ration

4.15 - 5pm - Q&A with Karin Mueller & Paul Vallely

Sunday 10th April

8.45am - Coffee & registration

9.00am - The UK Industry today & tomorrow inc Lessons learnt from an Australian fleece collection scheme with Paul Vallely

9.30 - 12.30pm - What do processors want and how do breeders achieve it?  Open floor discussion with invited industry processors / end users

This is your opportunity to hear from some of the industry end users of your fibre - what they look for, how to achieve it, remembering  - all fibre has a use.

12.45-1.30pm - Light Lunch

1.30 - 4.30pm - How to prepare fleeces for processing; how to correctly skirt to achieve maximum return of best product with Paul Vallely & Emma Taylor.

There will be refreshments available throughout the day and a light lunch is included in the cost. Hand out of notes available too. 

Accommodation is available on site at Stoneleigh Park Lodge or nearby in Kenilworth village  for those requiring it.

Tickets can be purchase via BAS 'Manage Your Herd' from Monday 22nd February until we reach capacity.
