Record entries for the BAS National Show 2017

2 December 2016

After only nine hours of entries opening, the maximum number of 560 halter entries was reached.  As a result entries are now closed.

Entries comprise of 81 exhibitors, with an average show team size of 7 alpacas. There are very few larger teams,  in fact 10 teams with 10 -15 animals, 4 in the 20s and only 1 above that.

This is an incredible achievement and it demonstrates the strength of industry and the momentum surrounding our flagship event.

We are aware that some members have missed out entering their alpacas into the show. This is unfortunate, but we hope that some spaces may become available closer to the time due to withdrawals.

Grassroots are running a waiting list, so if you have missed out, please email your details and number of entries to and she will add you to the waiting list. Several herds on the waiting list got places at the last show, however, being on the list does not guarantee places will become available.

There are still some spaces in the fleece show, but these too are filling quickly. A maximum of 240 fleeces will be accepted.

There will be an update on the UK judging situation surrounding the National Show next week, followed by an update on the Saturday evening dinner.
