Another Successful Show - Westmoreland Show

4 October 2013

The 2013 Westmorland Show attracted 84 entries from 20 breeders with some showing for the first time. The weather was kind and the alpacas were shown outside which proved popular with a good proportion of the 30,000 people who visited the agricultural show.

The show was ably judged by Tim Hey with Barbara Hetherington acting as his apprentice and providing some of the oral reasoning.
Alpaca products were on sale in the public viewing area within the marquee.

Supreme Champion Huacaya was awarded to Chestnut Farm Lord of Sherwood and Supreme Champion Suri to Greenside Romulus. Both Supreme Champions took part in the end-of-show grand parade in front of HRH The Countess of Wessex.

Thanks to the Westmorland County Show team for providing all the facilities, and to the stewards, Bev and Andy Stewart, Michael Henderson, Sam Whitehead, and to Robyn Sandys-Clarke for proving the commentary. Thanks also to Shaun Daniel for bringing the BAS trailer which was manned for the day by BAS secretary Sue Welch.
